A photograph of the Milky Way from my road trip last week. It was my first time photographing it above the Bonavista Lighthouse. This is the fainter section of the Milky Way; the brighter core was angled toward the town’s lights and disappeared into the glow of light pollution. I was there at 3 a.m., the only person around, and the only sounds were birds and whales calling in the distance. The photograph cannot quite capture how magical it felt to stand there alone beneath that sky.
